Wow, amazing idea. I've never seen a Turret cosplay before! I know they have talking Turret plushies now, so maybe it would be a nice add-on to this costume to carry one around.
Actually, speaking of Turrets this is rather random, but I occasionally design "Star Trek" ships and technology in my spare time and I recently got the idea of using the Portal Turret as the inspiration for a new Phaser array.
Which, I guess, could mean you've got a Turret, probably even bigger than the Animal King, mounted on a space ship 366 meters long and firing beam blasts that can vaporize city blocks... *smirk*
Thanks for returning my comment! I'm sorry the costume is retired, but I'm glad that people were able to see it and that you got a lot of compliments for it, because that was very creative.
That would be hilarious. It would be even more embarrassing to the Klingons than just getting shot by the Enterprise already would be, especially since all that business with the cloaking device causes ship to ship fights to be hide-and-seek games anyway and the Turret dialog is perfect for that. "Hello! I see you!" *BZZAAPP* "There you are." *BZZAAAPP*
Oh, it would definitely be entertaining. And I think Scotty would love it, although the talking Turret would probably drive Doctor McCoy nuts since he hates computers already. (Didn't know we had that interest in common!)
Remember "Balance of Terror," the first one where Kirk's chasing the Romulan ship and it keeps cloaking and running away? The Turrets would be perfect in that show. The only thing funnier than that would be if Enterprise's main computer core got replaced with this guy: [link]
He already grumbles all the time, that would be one tantrum to end all tantriums. Bonus points if they get the Curiosity Core with the Space Core. God forbid we leave Scotty babysitting the Curiosity Core... or maybe we can beam Angry Core on board and see what happens when the Redshirt Corps mistakes it for a soccer ball.
